Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House Early 1900's
Studio G is very excited to be collaborating with the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority and the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House on new housing and revitalization of the historic home in order to support its many programs.
Margaret Fuller, an influential 19th Century feminist, Transcendentalist, and author, called 71 Cherry Street home until the age of 16. In 1902 it became one of the first settlement houses in the United States, serving and supporting recent immigrant families.
Today the organization delivers “imaginative, creative initiatives” that “strengthen and empower youth, families, and community residents” to “address the economic, social, and political inequities” that shape the lives of many Cambridge residents. Programs includes the largest food pantry in the city which serves 1,100 families, after-school program for children aged 5-12, adult education classes, and other support services.
We are thrilled to be a part of this project with two organizations that share our values of advocacy, equity for all, and building sustainable communities.
