Studio G Architects was invited by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership to participate in the 2022 Housing Institute. The two-day online event was held on June 7th and 8th.
Gail Sullivan, Managing Principal and Founder of Studio G, joined Amy Dain of Dain Consulting to present the final conference session. Gail’s presentation, titled Communities by Design, examines an approach to affordable housing design which forges a sense of community among residents, within a larger neighborhood, and engages the broader community. She discussed how thoughtful programming and design keeps people at the center of affordable housing design. The presentation examined the:
- design impacts of site planning, building form, amenities and resources
- integration of landscape and design for health and wellness
- sustainable design and development in response to climate change and the expanding requirements of the energy code
