As designers of schools, multi-family housing and health facilities, we are increasingly mindful of lessons we are learning from the Covid-19 pandemic about healthy building environments.

A recent AIA article, “What can Covid-19 teach us about climate change? Experts weigh in” identifies some preliminary lessons to consider:

  • Health threats and climate change share common roots
  • Dramatic progress is possible
  • Early action is key, even if it seems like overreaction
  • Collective action works
