We are starting off October in a very celebratory mood! On October 1st the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) selected Studio G Architects for the design of a new Florence Roche Elementary School in Groton, MA.
The MSBA designer selection panel interviewed four firms and ranked Studio G first based on an evaluation of firm qualifications, responsiveness to the interview questions, and understanding of the project and district. Superintendent Dr. Laura Chesson, Groton Town Manager Mark Haddad, and School Committee Member Brian LeBlanc represented the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District (GDRSD) throughout the process.
The design team will begin working with the district, school faculty, and the community immediately to evaluate an addition/renovation scenario vs new construction on sites identified by GDRSD for the K-4 Florence Roche Elementary School. In addition, the study will include assessment and future use recommendations of the Swallow Union Elementary School in Dunstable.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for education, based on cognitive science, or how the brain works. Teachers are empowered to personalize learning for students with diverse needs, abilities, interests, and backgrounds, including differences in Social and Emotional Learning.
