A hearty congratulations to the Taunton WRAP project team for winning the 2017 Paul & Niki Tsongas Award from Preservation Massachusetts for “Best Use – Community and Social Services.” The Paul & Niki Tsongas Award recognizes those who have played an extraordinary role in promoting the preservation of our Commonwealth’s past for the benefit of the future.
This project rehabilitated and transformed the 1st floor of one of the historic landmark buildings on Taunton State Hospital campus to serve women in recovery. It was an extraordinary example of the power of women from the Lt. Governor Karen Polito and the Women’s Legislative Caucus, to DCAMM, to the Department of Health and Human Services and the architects and construction managers.
We share this award with our colleagues at BOND, @DCAMM and @MASSDMH, without whom this project would not have been possible. A special thank you to Pam Bailey at BOND Brothers for submitting Taunton WRAP for this award on behalf of the entire project team.
