We’re proud to share that Florence Roche Elementary School has been featured as the Facility of the Month in the March/April issue of School Construction News.
The in-depth article, “For Learners and Community,” highlights how the new school in Groton, Massachusetts exemplifies Universal Design for Learning (UDL) while embracing the character and values of its local community.
The 110,000-square-foot school creates flexible, inclusive learning environments that empower students and teachers alike. The design reflects Groton’s civic identity and natural landscape, organizing the school around a central “Town Center” and weaving in playful, nature-inspired elements throughout. With grade-level learning neighborhoods, outdoor learning access, and spaces designed for creativity and collaboration, Florence Roche is built to foster curiosity, engagement, and a strong sense of belonging.
The article also celebrates the collaborative process behind the school’s design—including meaningful input from students, educators, and town leaders—and how that feedback helped shape a joyful, student-centered learning environment for generations to come.
